Shared-device mode for plant tablets
A phone in someone’s pocket and a tablet mounted on a line need different sign-in behavior. KeepSpec lets you tell it which kind of device you’re using.
Personal vs. shared
On the sign-in screen, and again on the Account screen once you’re signed in, you can mark a device Personal or Shared (plant tablet).
- Personal — your own phone, stays signed in for a normal length of time, the way most apps do.
- Shared (plant tablet) — anyone signed in is automatically signed out 8 hours after sign-in, so the next operator on the next shift always sees a clean sign-in screen rather than inheriting whoever used it last.
A per-device setting, not a per-organization one
This choice lives on the device itself, independent of anything configured in the web console. The same person signing into their own phone and a shared plant tablet can have each one behave correctly without changing anything about their account.
